Municipal SCADA System
Canton Municipal Utilities of Canton,
Mississippi supplies utilities to some 4,500 industrial, commercial, and
residential customers. To meet the growing demand for natural gas, electricity,
water, and waste water, the city needed a more cost effective way of managing
and controlling their operations. They chose to automate their system with an
Allen-Bradley SCADA system provided by ASI.

SCADA Requirements

Monitor natural gas flow and project daily

built the SCADA system utilizing
Allen-Bradley PLC-5 controller RTUs
communicating over radio modems to the
Master PLC-5.

A PC-based MMI allows operators to control and monitor
all sites within the system.

System Overview
The system collects data from remote sites which is relayed to
the Control Console via radio modems. The remote sites are controlled and
monitored from a central location.
